All of the dogs pictured below are now happily living in their forever homes.
A very special thanks to each and everyone of you that has given your second hand dog - first class love.
We are so grateful to have Oliver (formerly Lucky, on the left). He and his new brother Beau (on the right) romp and play all day long, and are pretty much inseparable. I dont think we ever know how an adoption will turn out but we take the risk and hope for the best. With Oliver, we really did get the best. He adds to our lives every day with his sweetness and sunny outlook on life. He was named Lucky once, but we are really the lucky ones! Thank you for bringing this wonderful soul into our lives! |

Argos has become an important member of our family; even our 13 year-old Labrador likes him! He is well mannered and terribly spoiled. We refer to him as "The king of all dogs." In fact, his regal likeness is featured on my website: www.pleonphoto.com
He joins my four-year-old and me for our three-mile walks at the Rose Bowl. He is extremely popular. Though it takes longer to complete our workout, we have met some nice people, and big friendly dogs! We are blessed to have adopted him and we think he feels the same way.

![]() Lady | This is a picture of Lady now. Isn't she beautiful? She looks like a different dog than the one we pulled out of the shelter! She had been picked up as a stray, wearing a collar but no I.D. tags. She was dirty, hungry and exhausted. She was also pregnant, and it looked like she was about to have the puppies any day. The shelter held her for the required period of time, but no one claimed her. That's when they called our rescue and asked if we could take her. They really didn't want her puppies to be born in the shelter, because they would be at such a high risk of contracting an illness there. And they didn't want Lady to have to experience the stress of giving birth and trying to take care of her puppies in the shelter. We didn't want that either. We picked her up right away and took her to a foster home, where she delivered five healthy puppies just a few days later. When they were old enough (and after they were wormed, vaccinated and spayed or neutered) they were adopted. Lady was also spayed before she was adopted. While in our foster care, we discovered that Lady was an incredibly gentle, sweet-natured soul. After a few months, she found a home too. She's safe now, and dearly loved. We're so happy we were able to help her and her puppies. They almost certainly wouldn't have survived in the shelter. |

| Nicholas' story began when he was only 8 weeks old. He was found by an animal control officer after being hit by a car. He was suffering from a fractured pelvis, among other injuries. (You can read more about this story on his Everything Husky page.) After recovering from his injuries in his foster home, Nicholas found his "forever" home. Update from Nicholas' new owners: "Nicholas and Dorian get along great! Where one goes, they both are. We are so lucky to have them both. The vet says Nicholas is doing great. We give him one tablet of Arthramine a day to help with his bones and joints. Other than that, he's up on all his vaccinations. Everyone at the pet hospital loves him and says he's a good patient! We were just up to Sacramento over the weekend to a ranch. The dogs loved it!!! Love, Jenn, Brian, Nicholas and Dorian." | ![]() Nicholas (front) and his friend Dorian |

| Jewel is a 2-year-old Siberian Husky whose former owner kept her and a "wolf hybrid" in his backyard. (Incidentally, wolf hybrids, or "wolf-dogs" as they are also known, do not make good pets.) He paid very little attention to either one of them, so Jewel was essentially "raised" by the wolf hybrid. When the owner decided to move, he did not want to take the dogs with him. The wolf-dog went to a wolf hybrid rescue, and Jewel came to Siberian Husky rescue. When we got Jewel, she'd had no socialization to the world outside her former owner's yard, and she'd had almost no human contact. She was very shy and skittish. She was afraid of people and did not like to be touched. Her behavior was quite feral, and we were afraid we would not be able to rehabilitate her. Fortunately, that was not the case. We worked with her, and she made amazing progress in a very short time. Jewel was adopted just a few months ago, and she and her new owner recently completed a basic obedience class with flying colors! She came to visit us at one of our Petsmart adoption days recently. The store was crowded with people and dogs who were new to her. Jewel was a little apprehensive at first, but she was soon letting people pet her and greeting the other dogs with interest. She was even comfortable enough to have her picture taken with her doggy friend, "Karma" (on the left) and Santa! | ![]() Jewel (right) and her friend Karma |

![]() | Hi! My name is Trudy. Siberian Husky Rescue/Referral of Southern California helped me find my forever home in 1998. Since then, me and my family have moved to Florida. These are some pictures of us taken last Christmas. (I sure hope there's something under that tree for me!) That's me in the picture on the left with my humans Brian and Yesny and my Cocker Spaniel friend Jewel. There's another picture of me on the right with my other Siberian companion who is a rescue from Florida. | ![]() |

![]() | We
wanted to express our overwhelming thanks to Husky Camp for matching us with our
Siberian Husky "Paige." We adopted her at the age of 2 more then a year
ago. She is thriving in her new home and loves being part of a family. She unpacked
most of her bags when she first arrived home after being abandoned and placed
at the rescue. After a time she has proven to be an extremely loyal dog never
to leave her new loving family. Her hobbies are: camping, playing chase, swimming,
visiting dog beach, walks, snacking, napping and hunting small prey (although
she doesn't know what to do with them once caught). She endures the long brushings
from the kids and playing dress up for the activity of the day. Thank you again
for doing what you do in bringing joy into peoples lives. |
