CAN'T KEEP YOUR DOG?
If at all possible, we encourage you to find a way to keep your Siberian Husky. There are many resources to turn to for help in solving problems. Failing that, if you absolutely must place your dog into a new home, please thoroughly read the information available on the following sites so you'll know how to safely find the best home.
Can we help you keep your pet? - Extensive information on solving problems/keeping your dog, or how to find a good home
People often have a hard time finding pet-friendly housing. Try the Apartments and Rentals section of Homestore.com. They claim that about 40% of their listings allow animals.
Give Your Dalmatian a Chance - This is on a Dalmatian Rescue website, but all of the information can be used to help you with your Siberian Husky (except the last part, about diet and stone formation, which doesn't apply to Siberians). This is a great article that will give you lots of suggestions if you're having problems related to your dog's behavior.
Save the Dalmations of Southern California - Click on "Dal Placement Assistance." This is the Dalmatian Rescue site again, but it has a lot of useful information that pertains to Siberian Huskies as well.
Are you having a problem with your Siberian Husky that you don't know how to solve? Try discussing the problem with more than 1000 other Siberian Husky lovers by joining Sibernet-L. Sibernet-L is a mailing list devoted to the Siberian Husky and is open to anyone wishing to discuss issues related to the Siberian Husky. There is sure to be at least one person (and, more likely, several people) on the list who have experienced the same problem and can offer suggestions. You can find out more about Sibernet-L, including instructions on joining the list, at the Save Our Siberians - Siberspace Rescue website.
